As talk of gun control legislation continues, Vice President Joe Biden, along with Attorney General Eric Holder, will meet tomorrow with gun "victims' groups."
Biden has been tasked by President Obama to seek out remedies to gun control violence. It is not clear, however, what role Holder might be playing in this process.
"An Obama administration task force led by Vice President Biden plans to offer recommendations this month on how to curb gun violence in the wake of the mass shooting at an elementary school in Newtown, Conn. The working group is weighing measures broader and more comprehensive than simply reinstating the expired ban on assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. President Obama has said he favors reinstating such a ban," the Washington Post recently reported.
"Other measures under consideration include regulations that would require universal background checks for firearm buyers, track the movement and sale of weapons through a national database, strengthen mental health checks, and stiffen penalties for carrying guns near schools or giving them to minors."
After the meeting, Biden will lunch with Obama at the White House.
