Next month former prosecutor Andrew McCarthy will publish his book Faithless Execution: Building the Political Case for Obama’s Impeachment. And already the Democratic party is trying to raise money off the title.
"There's a book coming out soon, and Republicans are really excited about it. Here's a hint about why: It's about impeaching the President," writes the communications director for the Democratic party, Mo Elleithee, in a fundraising letter to supporters. "The thesis is -- well, let me quote it for you:
"Impeachment is not about what the law allows. Impeachment is a matter of political will."
Daniel, Republicans have nothing but the political will to block our President's agenda. In fact they have no real will to do anything else (like their jobs as elected representatives of the American people), and it appears that they'll stop at nothing.
It's up to Democrats to prevent this -- pitch in $10 or more right now to stand with President Obama and help elect Democrats who will fight for him, too.
This isn't about just one loony book.
A publishing source reacts to Elleithee's pitch. "The Democrats are fundraising off a book that isn’t out for a month. They may not like the book’s arguments, but it’s by one of the nation’s most highly regarded legal minds and a career prosecutor, not some crazy right winger. It assembles a catalog of lawlessness and disregard for the Constitution that would make even the most diehard liberals think twice if they were being honest with themselves. It’s a careful case for making impeachment mainstream in Republican circles," writes the source.
