Earlier this morning on national TV, Bill Kristol pointed out that President Obama is meeting with his VA secretary later this morning, as the White House just announced. The boss asked, will Secretary Shinseki use his morning meeting with his boss to resign?
"I gather Eric Shinseki, the head of the VA, is meeting with President Obama in the Oval Office at 10 o'clock this morning. They just announced that about half an hour ago," said the boss. "I've got to wonder whether he isn't resigning. I mean, he's a man of some dignity and this is not the right thing for him to just hang on for the sake of hanging on. He can say he did his best, but the system overwhelmed him. But it's not good for him, it's not good for the veterans, it's not good for the country, honestly, to have the spectacle of a decent man--what's the point of his hanging on? Can he reform it any better than the new person? No, I don't think so."
MSNBC host Joe Scarborough added, "And Bill, this is an unnecessary scandal for the Obama administration as he's been in power for six years. ... Forget about policy, they are so horrible at crisis management six years in, I don't get it."
