According to the White House schedule, President Obama had a meeting in the Oval Office at 10:45 a.m. with Vice President Joe Biden and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Then, after the scheduled meeting, President Obama took an impromptu, unscheduled trip to the Democratic National Committee headquarters in Washington, D.C.

"The President stopped in to the DNC headquarters today to thank staff for all of their hard work and fire them up for the months ahead," DNC communications director Brad Woodhouse said in a statement.

But despite having a private lunch with Biden at the White House scheduled for 12:30, it appears Obama did not invite Biden to join him for the DNC pep talk.
