The numbers in a recent Wall Street Journal/NBC poll got the attention of Chris Cillizza at the Washington Post who reacted this way:
Three quarters of Americans do not feel confident that their children will have a better life than they do in a new NBC-Wall Street Journal poll, the lowest number ever measured in the survey and a stunning indication of the historic uncertainty and pessimism coursing through the public.
Cillizza finds “depressing” what everyone outside of Washington pretty much already knew.
There are, however, some in Washington who still don’t get it. As CNBC reports:
