The voters in play – and crucially so – this election cycle are what Linda Killian, writing in the Wall Street Journal’s Washington Wire, calls "Starbucks Moms." White, suburban women, in other words, for whom the most pressing political issues would be:
There are probably some men who get their morning coffee at Dunkin Donuts who are concerned about the same things. Three out of five, maybe. But everyone knows men don’t go to either college or the doctor.
But concede the point. If the election is to be fought on this ground, then the odds would favor the Republicans. So expect to hear a lot about the “war on women,” and what Republicans do to those they take prisoner.
