Here are two clips from yesterday’s House Budget Committee hearing on Obamacare’s Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB). In the first, Chairman Paul Ryan asks Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius about her views on competition and choice:

In the second, Ryan outlines the two main alternatives that have been advanced: President Obama’s plan to have the unelected IBAP siphon colossal sums of money out of Medicare and spend it on Obamacare; and Ryan’s plan to lower Medicare costs by increasing competition and choice, thereby taking a major step toward keeping Medicare, and America, solvent.

The evidence across 40 years certainly favors Ryan’s approach.
