400 Christian Leaders Come to Washington to Lobby Against Chuck Hagel

Christians United for Israel is bringing 400 leaders to Washington to lobby against Chuck Hagel, President Obama's nominee to be the next secretary of defense. CUFI, the largest pro-Israel organization in America, announces in a press release: 

WASHINGTON – More than 400 Christian leaders hosted by the Christians United for Israel (CUFI) Action Fund will arrive Monday afternoon in Washington to urge their senators to vote against confirming former Sen. Chuck Hagel as the next Secretary of Defense.The emergency summit will begin with a policy briefing and dinner Monday at 7:00 pm featuring Senate Minority Whip John Cornyn (R-TX), CUFI founder and Chairman Pastor John Hagee, CUFI board member and President of American Values Gary Bauer, and CUFI executive director David Brog. Details for media coverage are below.The leaders will then visit their senators’ offices on Tuesday.The emergency meeting comes on the heels of a CUFI action alert launched after President Barack Obama announced his intention to formally nominate Hagel. As a result of this alert, more than 21,000 individuals emailed their senators asking that the senators vote against Hagel's confirmation.
