Former Democratic Aide Calls Lieberman a Bloodsucker

From a Roll Call report on Connecticut senator Joe Lieberman:

"At this point, it's safe to say many in the Democratic caucus see Sen. Lieberman as a mosquito," said Jimmy Williams, a former aide to Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.). "The bad news is he has sucked enough blood from both sides of the aisle. The good news is winter is coming, meaning his time in the Senate will thankfully come to an end."

As Ira Stoll notes, this sort of language used "to describe the financial industry is rooted in Marxist-Leninism, Nazism, and anti-Semitism..." And although Roll Call notes that Williams is "a former aide" to Senator Dick Durbin, they fail to mention, as Stoll does, that he currently is "a lobbyist registered to represent such clients as American International Group, the Blackstone Group, the Carlyle Group, Chevron Corporation, Citigroup, Credit Suisse, Icahn Associates Corporation, Pfizer, and the Mortgage Bankers Association."
