The celebration of work and the working man and woman feels a little forced this year.  Union have, as Kevin Bogardus of The Hill reports:

... watched with growing annoyance as the White House has backed ObamaCare changes in response to concerns from business groups, religious organizations and even lawmakers and their staffs.

They may be annoyed and, perhaps, with justification.  But they are working.  Millions are not.  And many of them no longer even look for jobs.  And there is nothing to celebrate in that.
