At a press conference flanked by Marine Corps veterans today, Connecticut's Democratic Senate candidate Dick Blumenthal responded to news that he falsely claimed that he "served in Vietnam."
"On a few occasions, I have misspoken about my service, and I regret that," Blumenthal said. He added that he was proud of serving "during" the "Vietnam era."
Asked about the many newspaper articles describing him as a Vietnam veteran that he failed to correct, Blumenthal said: "I may not even have seen them."
