Chelsea Clinton, the daughter of former President Bill Clinton and former secretary of state Hillary Clinton, is celebrating fathers who empower daughters.
“Richard Branson, Chelsea Clinton and Ziauddin Yousafzai (Malala’a father) join G(irls)20 to celebrate fathers who empower their daughters,” Mike Allen quotes a press release from the group G(irls)20 as saying.
“G(irls)20, the global social-profit organization that aims to cultivate a new generation of female leaders, is launching a ‘Fathers Empowering Daughters’ initiative to kick-off Father’s Day celebrations around the world. … The campaign calls on fathers … to showcase the ways in which they empower their daughters to succeed and achieve …
“The initiative is being launched in the run up to the world leaders meeting at the G20 in Australia this August, where G(irls)20 will convene 24 girls from around the world to address how to economically engage and empower girls and women to achieve growth goals globally and in their home countries. The global campaign features fathers and daughters from around the world sharing their stories in a series of self-recorded videos.”
Chelsea Clinton is vice chair of the Bill, Hillary, and Chelsea Clinton Foundation, where she "works alongside her parents, President Bill Clinton and Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton, to drive the vision and work of the Clinton Foundation," according to a bio on the group's website.
