Quinnipiac: "Christopher Christie gets decent grades from voters as he nears the end of his first year in office, with a 51 - 38 percent approval rating, higher than President Barack Obama or any other statewide leader, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today."

Chris Christie, Still Popular

 Obama's approval rating: 46% approve, 50% disapprove.

Democratic senator Bob Menendez, who's up for reelection in 2012, gets a 38% approve/41% disapprove rating. A conservative Christie recruit who could take down Menendez--think Ron Johnson with a Jersey accent--may impress conservatives more than all of the governor's YouTube clips. Okay, maybe not that much. But it would continue to wow them.
