A new poll from Fairleigh Dickinson University shows New Jersey governor Chris Christie at a record-high 56 percent approval within the state. NJ.com reports:
“It’s hard to imagine that a minority party governor could really do much better,” said poll director Peter Woolley. “Unless maybe he runs into a burning building and rescues an old lady. But that trick has been taken.”
Thirty-three percent of voters disapprove of Christie.
The poll also found 50 percent of voters think the state is headed in the right direction, while 41 percent say it’s in the wrong direction — a statistically insignificant change from the last time Fairleigh Dickinson asked the question in March.
“Two surveys in a row, it’s not a fluke,” said Woolley.
