A year at Columbia University's journalism school will set you back nearly $84,000.
"Tuition and living expenses for the one-year Masters of Science is estimated to cost $83,884, including $58,008 in tuition and fees, for the 2013-2014 academic year, according to the journalism school’s website. The school, founded by Joseph Pulitzer, opened in 1912 and administers the Pulitzer Prizes," Bloomberg reports.
As one reporter notes on Twitter, "So what you're telling me is, a year of Columbia J-school costs more than what many of its graduates will ever make in a year."
The data point comes at the end of an article reporting that "Columbia University named veteran reporter and editor Steve Coll as dean of its Graduate School of Journalism."
Coll is a former editor at the Washington Post.
