Dems Offer 'Inside Scoop' to Sweepstakes Winner

The latest Democratic fundraising email offers donors who win a sweepstakes contest a chance to hear the "inside scoop" from Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
"Ever wonder exactly what the Democrats have in store for the 2012 campaign?," the fundraising pitch asks. "If you're like me, you always want the inside scoop -- where we're focusing, what's our game plan, how we're going to win across the country."
To hear the "inside scoop," one can donate to be entered into a raffle of sorts to lunch with Wasserman Schultz. "Well, I could give you a long lecture, filled with charts, briefing papers, and footnotes. Or you could get it straight from the source: Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz," the email reads.
"Donate today, and you'll be automatically entered for a chance to have lunch with Rep. Wasserman Schultz -- and you can ask her whatever you'd like. If you care about this fall's races, and what the Democrats are doing to win, you shouldn't pass up this opportunity. Trust me, no matter how much you read or watch the news, you'll get more out of an hour with Debbie than an entire election cycle of talking heads and pundits."
A disclaimer at the bottom of the email says, "No purchase, payment, or contribution necessary to enter or win. Contributing will not improve chances of winning." And in the fine print, the email offers this link for one to enter a chance to hear the "inside scoop" without making a donation to the Democratic National Committee.
