Detroit Hangs On

To first place.  In baseball, that is.

The Detroit Tigers remain at the top of the Central Division in the American league after being held to a two hit shutout by the Royals in Kansas City last night.  Still, the Tigers hold a game-and-a-half lead over Cleveland (another urban loser) and one hopes they make it all the way to the World Series.  If ever a city could use a little boost ... and the revenue.

The actual city of Detroit, meanwhile, wasn't doing so well, finding it difficult even to officially declare itself bankrupt when that, plainly, is its condition.
