DNC Hosts 'Obama Shabbat'

The Democratic National Committee is hosting an "Obama Shabbat" tonight at its Washington, D.C. headquarters to observe the Jewish sabbath.
"Please join us for a Kabbalat Shabbat service lead by Sixth and I's Rabbi Shira Stutman," reads an advertisement for the event on BarackObama.com. "Services will be followed by a speech from the Obama Campaign's National Jewish Outreach Director Ira Forman as well as Kiddush and a light Shabbat dinner. With just 73 days to go until the election, this will be a great opportunity for our community to gather together, celebrate Shabbat, and organize to reelect President Obama."
The event seems aimed at encouraging Jewish support for President Obama's reelection effort.
It comes the same week that President Obama's campaign announced "Rabbis for Obama." Analysis shows that many of those rabbis are far-left activists.
It also follows a similar effort from earlier this summer. In June, the Obama campaign held "Obama Shabbat" across Washington, D.C. at the homes of volunteers.
