 Republican Senate candidate Deb Fischer of Nebraska has defeated her Democratic opponent, former governor and former senator Bob Kerrey, according to CBS News.  Fischer, a state senator from Valentine, won a come-from-behind victory in her three-way Republican primary. She will succeed Democrat Ben Nelson, who chose not to seek reelection.
