![]() The latest Gallup poll of registered voters, conducted late last week and over the weekend, shows Newt Gingrich and Mitt Romney trailing President Obama by identical tallies — 50 to 48 percent. Gallup interestingly writes that it “finds a slight improvement in Gingrich’s standing versus Obama, but no change in Romney’s.” In Gallup’s previous survey, taken in the first week of December, Obama led Romney by 1 point (47 to 46 percent) and Gingrich by 6 points (50 to 44 percent). Gingrich has since reduced his deficit versus Obama by 4 points, while Romney’s deficit has widened slightly. The Weekly Standard ArchivesBrowse 15 Years of the Weekly Standard
