Gallup's latest:
Perry's jumping to first place is all the more impressive because only 67% of Republicans polled recognize his name and 86% of Republicans recognize Romney. Perry still has a lot more room to improve. The new frontrunner's greatest challenge is to win Iowa, where PPP shows him on top by just a few points. If Perry were to lose in Iowa and New Hampshire, it would be pretty tough for him to use South Carolina as a launch pad to the nomination.
