On ABC News's This Week, former House speaker Newt Gingrich suggested the White House's response to the Benghazi terrorist attack will continue to hurt Barack Obama's reelection campaign.

"You notice that [Obama is] cancelling his trips over the hurricane,” Gingrich told host George Stephanopoulos. “He didn't cancel his trips over Benghazi, and you have to wonder, between Benghazi, the price of gasoline and unemployment just how much the burden the president is going to carry into this last week.”

The Associated Press reports that Obama has canceled upcoming campaign events in Viriginia and Colorado on Monday and Tuesday, respectively, so he can "monitor Hurricane Sandy" in Washington. Mitt Romney has also canceled an event in Virginia on Sunday, citing the storm.
