'Green Inaugural Ball' Planned to Celebrate Obama

A "Green Inaugural Ball" has been scheduled to celebrate President Barack Obama's second inauguration, according to an invitation of the event. The ball will be held January 20, the day of Obama's second inauguration, at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park in Washington, D.C.

Co-sponsors of the event include: Greenpeace, Solar Electric Power Association, The Trust for Public Land, UN Foundation, The Vote Solar Initiative, The Wilderness Society, as well as many more.

Sponsorship of the event requires at least a $10,000 donation. But don't worry: the donations "are tax deductible," according to the invitation. They are made to a 501(c)3 organization, which allows for donations to be deductible. The cheapest tickets available are a mere $250, which allows one general admission. More access and more perks require are available at greater cost.

Sponsors: Sponsorship Packages start at $10,000, and are tax-deductible. Full information is attached. All sponsorships are limited and are subject to review and approval by the Green Ball Steering Committee. Sponsorships can be made through National Wildlife Federation, a 501(c)(3) organization.

Tickets: Pre-Sale tickets are $250 for General Admission and $1,500 for VIP Level. Public Sale tickets are $400 for General Admission and $1,950 for VIP Level. Pre-Sale tickets are available to Host Committee Members and are available from December 10th until December 20th. Tickets go on sale to the public on December 21st. A portion of the purchase price of VIP tickets is tax-deductible. All tickets are limited.

Accommodations: Limited room blocks are being held at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park. They are held and secured on a first-come first-serve basis for Sponsors only. Deadline to reserve to December 20th.
