Robert Gibbs wants to see somebody fired over the Obamacare breakdown.  As a way of restoring public confidence, of course.  If this were the public sector, after all, we’d be dodging the rolling heads anytime we crossed a street.

Well, someone actually has been fired.  That would be, as the Washington Post's Aaron C. Davis reports, "Washington D.C. insurance commissioner, William P. White.”

It seems, however, that Mr. White did not insert millions of lines of bad code into the website.  Nor did he write those Presidential speeches assuring people that if they like their plan … etc. etc.. He did not, even, have any role in larding up the legislation to the point that Nancy Pelosi couldn’t make time to read through all 2,000 odd pages.

No, seems Mr. White was fired for opposing the President’s “fix,” in which he essentially suspended enforcement of a key portion of the Affordable Care Act.

Mr. White asserted, in a statement, that:

“The action today undercuts the purpose of the exchanges, including the District’s DC Health Link, by creating exceptions that make it more difficult for them to operate.”

And that is insupportable.

Kathleen Sebelius, meanwhile, remains on the job.
