It is not always bad to be offensive. And offending terrorists, for instance, strikes me as a pretty good example. But this point seems lost in our politically correct culture -- and it seems especially lost on New York Times columnists. Take Nicholas Kristof, a twice-weekly columnist for the Times, who expressed his concern on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" today that Rep. Peter King's House hearings on the threat of homegrown radical Islamists might offend members of "radical mosques":
I, for one, hope that King's hearings are seen as offensive by members of "radical mosques." These are precisely the people who the feds -- and these congressional hearings -- should be "picking on."
