Mike Huckabee will endorse Mitch McConnell tomorrow in the Kentucky GOP Senate primary against Louisville businessman Matt Bevin, GOP sources tell THE WEEKLY STANDARD.

"I’m proud to endorse Mitch today and stand next to him for the next fifteen months until he is re-elected in Kentucky and then elected the next Majority Leader of the U.S. Senate," Huckabee will say in an email to his supporters, according to a draft of the email obtained by TWS. "Mitch has a 100% Right to Life score, an 'A' from the NRA, a perfect 100% from the American Conservative Union, and he’s the one man primarily responsible for uniting Senate Republicans against Obamacare."

Huckabee, a former pastor, governor of Arkansas, and 2008 presidential candidate, currently hosts a weekend TV show on Fox News Channel and carries clout with conservative evangelical Christians. Huckabee will warn supporters tomorrow that "liberals in Washington are sensing they can’t beat Mitch in a general election so now they’re trying to promote a primary opponent."

Huckabee calls McConnell "Barack Obama's #1 obstacle."

You can read the entire endorsement here:

It isn’t easy fighting on the front lines against Barack Obama and his allies in Congress every day but someone has to do it.  There is nobody who has done it more effectively, who asks for less recognition for his work, than Mitch McConnell.  I’m proud to endorse Mitch today and stand next to him for the next fifteen months until he is re-elected in Kentucky and then elected the next Majority Leader of the U.S. Senate.

Mitch has a 100% Right to Life score, an “A” from the NRA, a perfect 100% from the American Conservative Union, and he’s the one man primarily responsible for uniting Senate Republicans against Obamacare.  And he’s kept the Senate united.

When you’re Barack Obama’s #1 obstacle, you become a target for the national media and that’s what’s happened to Mitch.  He’s already faced over $1 million of attack ads this year and we’re still 15 months away from his election.  Left-wing Super-PACs have attacked his wife Elaine Chao’s ethnicity, bugged his campaign headquarters, and protested in his front yard.

Through it all, Mitch has stood tall for conservative principles and the people of Kentucky.  After throwing their best at him, the liberals in Washington are sensing they can’t beat Mitch in a general election so now they’re trying to promote a primary opponent.  Folks, they’ll stop at nothing to take him out.  He needs our support and our help. Please give what you can here to his re-election and together we can work towards a Republican majority in the Senate.

God Bless,

Governor Mike Huckabee

P.S. Don’t let this administration get away with targeting conservatives. Please join me right now in supporting Senator McConnell with whatever you can afford.
