The Military Isn't the Problem

The Heritage Foundation has created a useful chart, showing that even if military spending were completely eliminated, the U.S. would still face major financial problems:

"Long-term deficits are the result of unsustainable levels of spending on entitlement programs," Heritage writes. "Rather than tackle them directly, some would cut defense. But even if spending on this crucial national priority was eliminated completely, entitlements would continue to drive deficits to unmanageable levels."
