A newly released National Journal poll of likely voters shows President Obama and Mitt Romney tied, with 47 percent support apiece. This is despite the poll’s showing the same turnout advantage for Democrats as in 2008 — 7 points (36 percent Democratic, 29 percent Republican in the poll; 39 percent Democratic, 32 percent Republican in 2008 exit polling). Among independents, Romney leads by 8 points in the National Journal poll — 49 to 41 percent.
