Larry Sabato, director of the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia, tweets:

Here's the SC message: We don't want this process shut down, we want it to continue. Nominee may be Mitt, Newt, or someone not yet in.

The polls close in South Carolina at 7 p.m., so we'll know soon enough. But it would seem that things (right now) don't look good for Mitt Romney, especially considering his campaign just sent out a press release congratulating Newt Gingrich for his "15th Anniversary" since becoming "Became The First House Speaker In American History To Be Reprimanded By His Colleagues."
