NYTimes Suggests Racial Motive Behind Barron Opposition

Plenty of New York liberal and Democrats, from former mayor Ed Koch to Congressmen Steve Israel and Jerry Nadler to even the New York Times editorial staff, have condemned Democratic congressional candidate Charles Barron for his history of racist and anti-Israel statements.
But a photo caption on one Times blog post suggests the widespread criticism of Barron (and support for his primary opponent, Hakeem Jeffries) is racially motivated. "A lot of white people condemning a black person," begins the caption to a photo identifying several local politicians, including Koch, Nadler, city councilman David Greenfield, and state assemblyman Dov Hikind. A comment below the blog post charges that the original headline was also "A lot of white people condemning a black person," though the headline appears to have been changed.
