President Obama "literally" made 19-year-old Lia Brunetti's dream come true this afternoon in Mansfield, Ohio. From the pool report:
Around 1:30 p.m., President Obama wandered across the street to the Squirrel’s Den, a fudge shop on North Main Street. He was the only one in there besides three people working there (and the large pool and staff contingency).
The president was greeted by a cashier, Lia Brunetti, 19, of Mansfield. She's a sophomore at the University of Pittsburgh majoring in psychology and physical therapy.
Lia: "I actually had a dream about you coming in here."
Obama: "Did you? You see that?"
Lia: "I'm like, you are literally making my dream come true."
Obama: "You are psychic."
Lia: "Maybe I can market myself like that, I can pay for school."
Obama: "Malia and Sasha left me for the summer."
Obama: "They're off at camp. And I don’t want them to forget me so I was thinking about putting a little care package together. What do you think?"
LaDonna Secrist, owner: "Do you have a place to keep it cool?"
Obama: "Yeah, well, I'll have to get it back to the plane, but once I get to the plane it'll be OK."
Secrist asks Potus to try the fudge. She squeezes a bit onto his finger. He eats it.
Obama: "That's some amazing chocolate right there. In case you're wondering, that's premium chocolate. It tastes great."
Obama: "I didn't realize I'd get this display of how this chocolate is made."
Secrist explains how the chocolate is made but the conversation was inaudible to your pool.
The president began looking over the merchandise and picked out a box of chocolate for Michelle as the pool was exiting.
