At a speech Thursday in Decatur, Georgia, President Obama told the crowd that getting flowers for his wife Michelle was "easier" because "I've got this rose garden," in reference to the White House Rose Garden.

The line is similar to one from the 1995 movie The American President, starring Michael Douglas and Annette Bening. Bening plays the girlfriend of the president of the United States, portrayed by Michael Douglas. In the movie's closing scene, Douglas's character gives Bening's a bouquet of roses. "How'd you finally do it?" Bening asks. "Do what?" Douglas responds. "Manage to give a woman flowers and be president at the same time," Bening says.

"Well, it turns out I've got a rose garden," Douglas says with a smile.
