Quinnipiac: Romney-Rubio Leads Obama-Biden by 8 Points in Florida

Via GOP 12, a new poll of Florida voters has some good news for Mitt Romney. On May 3, Quinnipiac showed Romney and Obama tied 44 percent to 43 percent, but the pollster now shows Romney leading Obama 47 percent to 41 percent. And picking Florida senator Marco Rubio as a running mate would increase Romney's share of the vote by 2 points (Romney-Rubio leads Obama-Biden 49 percent to 41 percent).
Since it's last poll, Obama's job approval has dropped 2 points (from 46 percent to 44 percent), and his disapproval rating has jumped 2 points (from 50 percent to 52 percent). Quinnipiac notes that Obama's gay marriage endorsement may have hurt him in the Sunshine state: "Another 25 - 11 percent of voters, including 23 - 9 percent among independent voters, say Obama's support of gay marriage makes them less likely to support his candidacy."
