As for the rest of the field, Rasmussen shows Ron Paul at 10%, Newt Gingrich at 9%, Iowa straw poll winner Michele Bachmann at 8%, and Rick Perry at 7%. On this day in 2007, the RealClearPolitics average of polls showed Romney leading in Iowa at 25.3%, with Fred Thompson in second place at 15.3% and Rudy Giuliani in third place at 14.5%. Eventual Iowa caucus winner Mike Huckabee was polling at 11.8%. In other words, a lot can change in 10 weeks. The Weekly Standard ArchivesBrowse 15 Years of the Weekly Standard
