Mitt Romney has broken the 50 percent threshold of support in Florida and leads Barack Obama by four points in the Sunshine State, according to a new poll from Rasmussen. Of the 750 likely Florida voters polled, 51 percent support Romney and 47 percent support Obama. That's Romney's largest lead in Rasmussen's Florida polling. ![]() The poll also found seniors, a major voting group in Florida, support Romney over Obama, and that 53 percent of Florida voters have a "favorable" view of the Massachusetts Republican. That's the latest in a couple good recent polls for Romney, and according to Real Clear Politics, he has, on average, a two-point advantage over Obama for Florida's 29 electoral votes. And in a new Rasmussen poll of 750 likely voters in Virginia, Romney maintains a small lead over Obama, 49 percent to 47 percent. That's one point better for Romney than the same poll of Virginia last week, where he had just a one-point edge over Obama, 49 percent to 48 percent. The RCP average for Virginia (which has not yet incorporated the new Rasmussen poll) shows a virtual tie in the Old Dominion. The Weekly Standard ArchivesBrowse 15 Years of the Weekly Standard
