A restaurant where President Obama took winners of his 2012 campaign’s “Dinner with Barack” contest was forced to close this week because it was cited for failing to comply with Washington, D.C.’s health and sanitation regulations.

Smith Commons, located in the H Street corridor of Washington, D.C. is a popular dining destination in Washington. According to WUSA9, Smith Commons was cited for “operating without hot water and without a staff member certified in managing food safety.”

When WUSA9 asked whether the problems had been remedied, the establishment declined to answer. “Workers inside Smith Commons declined our interview request and didn't allow us to see improvements made to pass re-inspection,” WUSA9 reports.

In October of 2012, President Obama brought six campaign supporters to the restaurant for dinner.
