Florida Senate candidate Marco Rubio is up with two 15-second ads responding to an attack ad released this afternoon by Florida Governor Charlie Crist.
The Crist ad claims that Rubio is "disappointing" because he is not as ideologically pure as his national reputation might suggest. (Interestingly, the Crist campaign chose to make this point by highlighting a line from a piece in the New Republic, perhaps not the wisest decision from a candidate trying to demonstrate his conservative bona fides.)
Within two hours, Rubio responded with two ads featuring his trump card -- a photograph of Charlie Crist standing alongside a smiling Barack Obama. The Rubio campaign plans to "bracket" the Crist ad with the two response ads whenever possible.
