New York Democratic senator Chuck Schumer has so far remained on the sidelines in the contentious Democratic primary in New York's Eighth Congressional District between Charles Barron and Hakeem Jeffries. Reid Pillifant of Capital reports:
Barron has a history of anti-Israel, anti-Semitic, and racist remarks, and while several other elected Democrats in New York, including Reps. Steve Israel and Jerrold Nadler and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, have all said they support the more moderate Jeffries, Schumer has yet to comment publicly on the race. The primary will be held on June 26. The Weekly Standard ArchivesBrowse 15 Years of the Weekly Standard
