Charles Krauthammer has an excellent piece this morning about Obama's decision to kill NASA's Constellation program, leaving America completely out of the low-Earth orbit game: "For the first time since John Glenn flew in 1962, the U.S. will have no access of its own for humans into space -- and no prospect of getting there in the foreseeable future."More:
Obviously, if George W. Bush had done this, it would be just one more part of his War on ScienceTM. The only quibble with Krauthammer's essay is his assertion that, without the Constellation program, we won't be able to study the effects of "long-term cosmic ray exposure."
