The State Department is warning of a protest in Malaysia on Friday, one day before President Obama is expected to arrive there on Saturday.
"The U.S. Embassy in Kuala Lumpur has learned from social media that a group of protestors are planning a demonstration ahead of President Obama’s visit to Malaysia. The protest is scheduled to take place on Friday, April 25, 2014, at 2:00PM, in front of the U.S. Embassy, 376 Jalan Tun Razak, Kuala Lumpur. It is not known how long the demonstrators will remain at the Embassy. The number of planned demonstrators is not known, but may total several hundred. A police presence is expected and traffic in the area will likely be disrupted," reads the State Department warning.
"The U.S. Embassy will close for all routine, non-scheduled consular services at 1:30PM on Friday, April 25, 2014. U.S. citizens should avoid the area around the Embassy. Local law prohibits non-Malaysians from participating in public protests."
There was a protest there last Friday, according to the AFP:
