The Trojan Horse Reappears

Yuval Levin and others have had the foresight to warn that the choice we face is not between repealing Obamacare and fixing Obamacare, but between repealing Obamacare and expanding Obamacare – which means: if not repealed, the massive new health care entitlement would build "a health care bridge to nowhere." We haven't had to wait long to see further evidence to that effect, as the Hill reports that a leading congressional Democrat is already publicly reviving talk of the government-run "public option." From the Hill:

Democrats could revive the public healthcare option if they maintain their majorities in Congress, the House Democrats' third-ranking member said Friday.

"Reelect me, keep Democrats on the field. And when we come back next year, maybe we will get to the public option," Majority Whip James Clyburn (S.C.) said during an appearance on the Tom Joyner Morning Show.
