U.S. Amb. to Japan, Caroline Kennedy, Sparks Outrage Over Deep Concern for Local Tradition

In recent days, the new U.S. ambassador to Japan, Caroline Kennedy, took to Twitter to express deep concern about the practice of a local Japanese tradition.
"Deeply concerned by inhumaneness of drive hunt dolphin killing. USG opposes drive hunt fisheries," Kennedy tweeted.
But the local fishing industry isn't happy with Kennedy's remarks. As one fishing industry official told the press, “We’ve got our lives. We can’t simply nod (to protests) and end centuries of our tradition.”
And now Japanese officials are pushing back against the American official's criticism. As the Associated Press reports:
