Video: DSCC Uses Trade Center as Symbol for Wall St. Greed in Anti-Brown Ad

Well, this is just stunningly inept. The ad has since been pulled by the DSCC, naturally, but here's a copy of it in its original form:

The NRSC and DSCC respond predictably:

“Using the image of a site where over 2,700 Americans died in a terrorist attack to distort Scott Brown’s position on regulating Wall Street is both distasteful and disrespectful. Martha Coakley should immediately renounce this ad and call for it to be removed from the airwaves," he (NRSC spokesman) said.

A spokesman for the DSCC, Eric Schultz, said the image should not have appeared in the ad, and that it was being pulled and aired with a different image.

I'm truly surprised by the huge mistakes being made by, not just Martha Coakley, but the national, experienced, political professionals brought in to help her.

Update: Rudy Giuliani is in Massachusetts, and responds to the DSCC mistake:

Former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani tells National Review Online that the DSCC's new attack ad against Bay State Republican Scott Brown, which uses an image of the World Trade Center, is “unthinkable, offensive, and a big mistake” that shows “how panicked” Democrats have become about losing Teddy Kennedy’s former Senate seat.
