Warren Stands by 'Nobody in This Country...Got Rich on Their Own'

While Barack Obama has taken to swing state airwaves to walk back his recent comments that business owners "didn't build" their businesses, Massachusetts Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren is not backing down from similar comments she made last year.

In a 2011 video that went viral on left-wing blogs, Warren told a group of supporters that "there is nobody in this country who got rich on their own." Warren was asked about these statements by a local TV station this week:

"Of course I stand by those remarks," Warren said. "Look at the video."

Here's part of what Warren said in that video:

There is nobody in this country who got rich on his own. Nobody. You built a factory out there, good for you. But I want to be clear. You moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for. You hired workers the rest of us paid to educate. You were safe in your factory because of police forces and fire forces that the rest of us paid for. You didn't have to worry that marauding bands would come and seize everything at your factory
