'Wow': Obama Fundraises Off Bill Clinton's Legacy

In his latest fundraising pitch, President Barack Obama tries to piggy back on the legacy of former President Bill Clinton. "When Bill Clinton ran for president in 1992, I had just started a job registering voters in Chicago," Obama writes in an email to supporters. "I remember watching his campaign and thinking, wow, I've never seen a candidate like him."
Obama continues: "I ran for president because we lost our way as a country after President Clinton left the White House. So much of the progress he helped make was rolled back. And so much damage was done -- to the middle class, to our reputation abroad, to our shared sense of community."
Here's the full email, with the subject line, "Wow."
This would seem to mark a shift for President Obama, who faced Hillary Clinton in the 2008 Democratic election. After all, Obama's pitch then was "change" (and "hope").
