"At this point, it's safe to say many in the Democratic caucus see Sen. Lieberman as a mosquito," said Jimmy Williams, a former aide to Senate Majority Whip Dick Durbin (D-Ill.). "The bad news is he has sucked enough blood from both sides of the aisle. The good news is winter is coming, meaning his time in the Senate will thankfully come to an end."
From the teacher who vowed to run “Zionists Jews who run these big banks” out of the country to the dude who mocked and danced in the face of a yarmulke-topped “bum,” Occupy Wall Street must no longer deny it.
Last week, the Emergency Committee for Israel released this ad, calling attention to the anti-Semitism present at the Occupy Wall Street protests and asking Democratic politicians who have embraced the movement to denounce these individuals:
A new Emergency Committee for Israel ad asks Democratic leaders who have embraced Occupy Wall Street to condemn the anti-Semitism elements of the protest. "Why are our leaders turning a blind eye to anti-Semitic, anti-Israel attacks?" the ad asks. "Tell president Obama and Leader Pelosi to stand up to the mob. Hate is not an American value."
Al Qaeda has released a tape commemorating the 10th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. According to the invaluable SITE Intelligence Group, the tape includes a speech given by Osama bin Laden that appears to be the same one found in the terror master’s Abbottabad, Pakistan not-so-safe house. The Pentagon previously released video of the speech without sound.
On his nightly television show recently, MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell said that Texas governor Rick Perry is not suitable to be president of the United States because of his connection to one man — Pastor John Hagee of San Antonio, Texas.
While the United Nations is doing its best to legitimize the forthcoming Durban III “anti-racism” bash, Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad appears intent on blowing the U.N.’s cover. Each year for the past five years, Ahmadinejad has chosen to speak on the opening day of the General Assembly’s so-called general debate, when all the presidents, prime ministers, and foreign ministers annually descend on New York City.
On Wednesday, the U.N. General Assembly elected Iran one of its vice presidents and Qatar as president, each for a year-long term starting in September. At one and the same time the Obama State Department has been blanketing the airwaves with speeches on this administration’s love affair with the UN under the title “principled engagement.” But with Wednesday’s U.N. elections, what kind of principles might the Obama administration be talking about?
Yale University has now canceled the Yale Initiative for the Study of Antisemitism (YIISA), the only such program in the country. The New York Postreports that the reason for the program's termination was not lack of interest, but, likely, the program's insistence on covering all forms of anti-Semitism—Muslim anti-Semitism included.
Paris's twice-annual Fashion Week began yesterday, but no one in the City of Light is talking about the clothes. Dior designer John Galliano was first suspended, then sacked, from the couture house as allegations he has, more than once, engaged in anti-Semitic rants in a Paris bar have come to light over the last few days.
Mike Grimm, a G.O.P challenger for Mike McMahon's Congressional seat, took in over $200,000 in his last filing.
But in an effort to show that Grimm lacks support among voters in the district, which covers Staten Island and parts of Brooklyn, the McMahon campaign compiled a list of Jewish donors to Grimm and provided it to The Politicker.
There is only one thing that terrifies Washington’s foreign policy establishment more than the prospect of an American airstrike against Iran’s nuclear-weapons facilities: an Israeli airstrike. Left, right, and center, “sensible” people view the idea with alarm. Such an attack would, they say, do great damage to the United States in Iraq and Afghanistan, where Tehran would counterattack, punishing “the Great Satan” (America) for the sins of “the Little Satan” (Israel).
