Vice President Biden going off unscripted always makes a day more interesting. In his most recent bit of spontaneity, he says what in the mouth of a civilian would be a commonplace observation:
“If I blindfolded someone and took him at 2 o’clock in the morning into the airport in Hong Kong and said, Where do you think you are?’ he’d say, ‘This must be America, it’s a modern airport.' If I took him blindfolded and took you to LaGuardia Airport in New York, you must think, ‘I must be in some Third World country.’ I’m not joking!”
New York’s new mayor, as Lucy McAlmont of Politico reports, did not appreciate Joe’s candor, saying that:
It was not Biden’s “finest moment" …
Probably not. There is some real tough competition for that distinction.
