The AP reports:
"Former Nebraska Sen. Chuck Hagel — a Republican — is throwing his support behind Democrat Joe Sestak in Pennsylvania's U.S. Senate race. Hagel told The Associated Press on Monday that Sestak has demonstrated during his two terms in Congress that he puts what's best for the country before the interests of his party. He said Sestak's courage and integrity as a legislator are qualities the nation needs more of."
At a recent event Sestak said that Hagel is "the guy I most admired in the Senate." It looks like the feelings are mutual.
While the news might help give Sestak the appearance of being bipartisan, an endorsement from Hagel--who has a "Questionable Israel Record," according to the National Jewish Democratic Council--is another reminder of Sestak's own record on Israel that pro-Israel groups find troubling.
