Barack Obama's deputy campaign manager, Stephanie Cutter, blamed Susan Rice for withdrawing her name from consideration to be the next secretary of state, not Obama. She made the comments this morning on national television:
"Well, it seems to be that she's the one that made the decision to back off. And if you look at his statements -- look, he hadn't made a decision on who he was going to pick as secretary of state. He has two very, very qualified people, Susan Rice and John Kerry, that are reportedly to be the front runners. He hadn't made [a decision]."
