Is Barney Frank worried about whether he'll be reelected to the House? Maybe, but it's pretty certain that Frank's partner, James Ready, is rattled.
Here's a video of Ready heckling Bielat after a recent TV debate (hat tip Hot Air):
The Bielat campaign maintains that the photographing heckler is Ready, and the Republican candidate's spokeswoman, Lisa Barstow, said in an email that the video “speaks for itself.” The Frank campaign has not responded to email inquiries regarding the incident by THE WEEKLY STANDARD. You can watch the entire debate that preceded this incident here.
Buoyed by repeated appearances on national television and conservative talk radio, Bielat, of Brookline, raised $379,000 between Aug. 25 and the end of September, exceeding the $317,000 raised by Frank, a 15-term incumbent, Federal Election Commission records show.
But even with Bielat’s haul, Frank still has far more money in the bank, and the Newton Democrat will enjoy a 3-to-1 financial advantage as the campaign enters the homestretch.
I write about this race and others in a piece for the magazine this week.
